About The Saturdays
The Saturdays are a British girl band and came into existence in 2008. Band members are Una Healy, Mollie King, Vanessa White, Frankie Sandford and Rochelle Wiseman. Healy hails from Ireland and has a musical background. She was immersed in making music and playing guitar since the early age of 13. She is the second lead vocal role in The Saturdays. King is from Richmond and has ski raced for Great Britain as a child! She is known as the ‘posh one’ in the band. Coming from Somerset. White has attended Theatre School and has featured in several theatre productions including the West End production of The Lion King. Wiseman was previously part of the band S Club 8 which Sandford was also a part of.

The band’s debut album Chasing Lights produced a number of top ten singles, four to be accurate; If This Is Love, Up, Just Can’t Get Enough and Issues. Chasing Lights was released under the label Fascination Records, which is a subsidiary of Polydor Records.

Chasing Lights was very positively received; both commercially as well as critically, and gained much acclaim from music critics. The album opened at number eleven on the UK Albums Chart. It later went on to the number nine position in the UK, finally making it to the Top Ten. Chasing Lights is a platinum selling album and has spawned four UK top ten singles, If This Is Love making it to number 8 in the UK, Up making it to number 5, Issues making it to number 6 and Just Can’t Get Enough made it to number 2. The track was kept off the top spot by Flo Rida’s Right Round.

Wordshaker, the band’s second album was released on 12 October 2009, again through Fascination Records in the UK and Polydor Records in Ireland. The album features the single Deeper which is the only song for which the band members have been accredited as co-writers. The album received positive reviews from music critics.

Forever Is Over is the first single to be released from the album, on 5th October, a week before the release of the album. The track received mixed critical reviews, but great commercial success and is currently on number 2 on the UK Singles Chart. The song is written by Louis Biancaniello, Sam Watters, James Bourne and Kahmarl Gordon, and produced by The Runaways. It’s The Saturdays’ highest charting track to date.
