About Miley Cyrus
As a young girl, Miley
shot to fame and in fact
still has to study, with
the help of a private
tutor, during her TV
show. Her real name is
Destiny hope but, due to
the fact that she was
always smiling, was
later given the nickname
smiley which was later
shortened to give her
the name with which she
became famous. At school
she was a cheerleader
and regularly attended
church.
Her start in acting came
at a very young age and
she joined the Armstrong
acting school aged just
nine whilst her parents
resided in Canada. She
had several minor roles,
some of which were on
her father's TV series
called Doc. She was soon
advised to sign with
Morey management and
duly did so.
When she was twelve,
Miley auditioned for a
part in a Disney
production about a
secret pop star and
eventually landed the
lead role after her
persistence meant that
she was called back for
more auditions.
She also found herself a
role on Hannah Montana
as the main character
and the show pulled in
on average four million
viewers each episode.
Her popularity amongst a
young audience meant
that she was able to
release her début album
including songs from her
TV show. This album sold
more than 3 million
copies and went straight
to the top of the
Billboard charts.
Her first tour took
place in 2008 and was
named Best of both
worlds. The Jonas
Brothers were the
opening act for her tour
which broke the records
for sell out time and
lasted an incredible 69
concerts across the US.
Miley released her
second studio album
during July 2008
entitled Breakout and
wrote all of the tracks
with the exception of
two. She has a love for
song writing and
envisages herself being
a songwriter for the
rest of her foreseeable
future.
Miley has had many other
minor roles scattered
throughout her short
career to date including
voice-overs and hosting
awards ceremonies and
has herself been
nominated for a golden
globe award for the best
original song; a strong
testament to her song
writing abilities.
Her success has not been
limited to screen or
studio either and she
has an exceptionally
positive outlook. Her
character Hanna Montana
has a huge popularity
amongst young people and
has therefore enabled
Miley to produce a large
volume of merchandise,
making her one of the
biggest superstar
earners at around $3.5
million per year.
Miley has many other
famous moments including
the release of her
Autobiography Miles to
go in which she talks of
how she is affected by
her mild heart
condition. There has
been a minor controversy
in her career when she
posed topless but has
otherwise flourished in
a very short space of
time.
