About Livvi FrancLivvi spent the first part of her life in Yorkshire,
England. Her mother is
English whilst her
father is Bajan. She
moved to Barbados when
she was five years old
in order to fully
appreciate her heritage,
on the wishes of her
parents.
Her stage name is
derived from her
Grandfather; Frank
Wilson who always used
to listen to Livvi when
she was playing the
piano. Her grandfather
who is no longer alive,
always used to predict
that his granddaughter
would make a good
musician.
Her début single was Now
that I'm bitch and just
crept into the top 40 on
the 30th June 2009 when
it reached number 40 in
the UK singles charts.
The song features
Pitbull – the
American rap artist. It
also managed to top the
Hot dance club play
chart in the US. Bitch
is in fact short for
babe in control of
herself and Livvi says
she wrote the song about
someone who is now in
control and in
possession of a greater
level of confidence and
self belief.
Her début song was
greeted with a very
mixed reception. Some
thought that it lacked
any real body and that
it would be considered
to be ordinary. The
track itself is said to
be not quite as risqué
as its title would
suggest despite the very
sassy set of lyrics.
Livvi assisted in the
song writing of most of
the tracks which make up
her début album. Whilst
producing the album, she
worked with Rihanna,
Sean Kingston, James
Blunt and also
Shakira. There are
11 tracks confirmed for
the album which will
include her début and,
to date, only single.
It has been noticed that
Livvi has a variety of
different styles and
genres. She told the R&B
commentator Pete Lewis
that this is due to the
fact that she grew up
listening to so many
different styles. This,
she claims, makes her
very limitless when
producing music and thus
versatile concerning her
choice of genre. This is
partly due to living in
different countries with
different music cultures
and also said that the
album represents herself
and her life to date.
As well as a singer,
Livvi has also had
success as a song writer
and has written for
Jordin Sparks,
Cheryl Cole, and
would have had written
for Michael Jackson had
it not been for the
star's untimely death in
2009.
she is described on her
own website as being one
part island girl some
parts man-eater and has
performed in London. She
is an incredibly unique
artist and her
versatility is likely to
allow her to create some
very interesting and
diverse albums. Her
début album is soon to
be released and is
likely to involve a
variety of genres which
show who Livvi really
is.
