About Cheryl Cole
Cole rose to fame as a contender on the show Pop Stars: The Rivals in 2002. The 5 member band Girls Aloud was formed with Cole and other contenders on the show by popular demand. The other members in Girls Aloud were Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts, Kimberley Walsh and Sarah Harding. The band was an instant success with their 2002 Christmas UK number one single, Sound Of The Underground. Girls Aloud has achieved 20 consecutive top ten singles and have enjoyed immense popularity throughout their career as a band. They also released 2 UK number one albums, have been nominated for several BRIT Awards and won the Best Single BRIT Award in 2009.

In April 2009, Cole officially confirmed that she was going solo. Her career has taken a terrific start, with the Fight For This Love becoming the fastest selling single of 2009 in the UK. The new album 3 Words was released on 26th October 2009. She ventured into a solo career much earlier when she featured on Will.i.am’s Heartbreaker in 2008. She also appeared on the music video of Heartbreaker.

Cole was born and brought up on a council estate and is one of five siblings. It was from an early age that young Cheryl showed an interest in dance and performing arts. She won several modelling and beauty contests as a child including Best Looking Girl of Newcastle and Boots Group’s Bonniest Baby; among others. She was also seen in some TV adverts such as British Gas and SCS.

In the past two years, Cole has been in the limelight as one of the judges on the ITV Show The X Factor. She was a mentor for the Girls Category in 2008, and went on to become the winning judge with the success of Alexandra Burke last year. This year, she is mentoring the Boy’s Category and has stated that she finds it harder to work with the lads; being used to working with females in the past.

Cole is recognised as a fashion icon and has appeared on the cover of Elle as well as British Vogue. In 2009, Cole received the Glamour Woman of the Year Award in the category of TV Personality. The beautiful singer has also received Best Reality TV Judge and Sexiest Female Awards.
