About Cascada
Cascada, formerly known
as Cascade, are best
known for their hit
singles Everytime We
Touch, What Hurts the
Most and the recent UK
#1 Evacuate the
Dancefloor.
Natalie Horler, born in
Germany to English
parents, was already
getting creative in the
studio for various
producers at the age of
18. In 2004 the Dance
Act 2 Vibez track
‘Sometimes’ was
released, on which
Horler did the vocals.
Horler met Manuel Reuter
and Yann Peiffer around
this time, and
eventually Cascada took
shape. Reuter,
professionally known as
DJ Manian is a trance DJ
and record producer at
his own label Zooland
Records. His track
Welcome To The Club is
well known. DJ Yanou is
a German trance
musician. Yanou
collaborated with DJ
Sammy on ‘Heaven’.
Cascada released their
first single Miracle in
2004 under the name
Cascade, but were soon
forced to change the
name to Cascada due to
legal conflicts. Miracle
was a success in the
German club scene but it
was not until the US
based Robins
Entertainment Label
re-released the track in
the US along with other
singles, Everytime We
Touch, How Do You Do!
and Bad Boy, that the
band achieved
international success.
DJ Yanou and DJ Sammy
had come across the song
Everytime We Touch by
Irish singer Maggie
Reilly. Cascada
re-recorded the track,
incorporating the chorus
of the 1992 Reilly song,
and this version of
Everytime We Touch
became a worldwide
success, instantly
reaching the top spot in
various countries
including the UK,
Ireland and making it to
#1 on US Dance Charts.
It became the
best-selling song of the
year 2006. The album of
the same name was
released later that
year, featuring all
previously released
singles as well as
follow up singles Truly
Madly Deeply, a cover of
the Savage Garden track,
and the cover of Kim
Wilde’s Kids In America.
Cascada was nominated
for and won the
international dance
music award for Best New
Dance Artist Solo.
In 2007, the Cascada was
nominated for the two
World Music Awards for
World Best-selling
Female Pop Artist and
Best-Selling German
Artist, winning in the
latter category. Cascada
soon started work on
their next album
entitled Perfect Day.
The lead single What
Hurts The Most was
released in 2007 and
early 2008, along with a
cover of Wham’s Last
Christmas. The second
single Faded (US release
only) was released early
2009 in North America.
The same year, Everytime
We Touch was nominated
for the European Border
Breaker Awards, which it
won. The band has also
received several
International Dance
Music Awards
nominations.
Evacuate the Dancefloor,
the bands third album
was released in July
2009 in UK and Germany,
following the release of
the hit single by the
same name in June. The
track was a worldwide
hit. The music video for
Fever, a track from the
album is said to be in
production and will
release in Germany by
October 2009.
