About Alphabeat
Alphabeat consists of
Anders SG, Stine Bramsen,
Anders B, Anders
Reinholdt, Troels Hansen
and Rasmus Nagel. The
band had originally
formed in 2004, working
the regional festival
circuit in Denmark and
Europe. After their
increasing popularity in
Denmark, several
international recording
labels noticed the band
and showed an interest
in signing them up. They
are currently signed
with Polydor Records.
The first UK single
Fantastic 6 was released
in November 2007. The
album This Is Alphabeat
became extremely
successful in the UK. It
charted in the top ten
on UK Albums Charts and
spawned three top 20
singles on UK Singles
Charts. Important and
respected publications
like NME, Digital Spy
and The Observer Music
Monthly have given the
band majorly positive
reviews so far. The band
is known and loved for
their upbeat and slick
patent sound of singles
like Fascination,
Boyfriend and 10,000
Nights.
The Spell, the new
single from their second
album was premiered in
August 2009. The single
is currently on UK
Singles Chart in the top
20 track list. Their new
album by the same name,
The Spell, is slated to
be released in early
November 2009. It
released in the band’s
home country Denmark a
bit earlier on the 26th
of October.
According to band member
Anders SG, the single
The Spell is inspired by
Black Box’s song I Don’t
Know Anybody Else.
Alphabeat’s musical
style has changed in the
second album, moving
from pure pop sounds to
an inclination towards
dance pop.
The band has toured
widely throughout their
career and is scheduled
to play at the Wonky Pop
Xmas Party in London in
2009. They have played
at various Wonky Pop
gigs and have also
played on the Wonky Pop
Tour. The band performed
in 2008 at T4 in the
Park, T4 on the Beach
and embarked on a 22 gig
tour of the UK and in
Holland.
